To ensure that manufacturers in Canada have an adequate supply of highly trained and productive internationally trained engineers who can help make Canada the most competitive nation and best place to live on earth.
Mission:

To increase the utilization of internationally trained engineers to meet British Columbia manufacturing shortages of professional skills and to ensure that underemployed or unemployed skilled immigrants are able to fully contribute to Canadian society by appropriately utilizing their education, training and experience.

By:

  • Identifying potential opportunities with manufacturers for utilizing the technical training and experience of Internationally Trained Engineers in traditional as well as non-traditional engineering roles such as technical sales, supply chain, operations, quality assurance, and project management;
  • Matching British Columbia Manufacturing technical openings with underutilized Internationally Trained Engineers tested against the Society of Internationally Trained Engineers of British Columbia (SITE BC) membership;
  • Communicating with the British Columbia manufacturing sector to raise awareness of the potential for internationally trained engineers to fill gaps in their teams requiring technical qualifications, whether or not they participate directly in the E-MAP program;
  • Providing initial and ongoing coaching support for both manufacturers and Internationally Trained Engineers participating in the E-MAP program to minimize factors that often inhibit successful placements;
  • Where appropriate, referring Internationally Trained Engineers to other programs to enhance their potential for successful placement.
